Overview
Daisy's Room is an experimental short film created as part of a multidisciplinary art project exploring memory, place and psychological unease. Set within a quiet seaside village, the film follows two visitors entering an abandoned apartment where increasingly surreal events begin to unfold. Strange apparitions, unsettling transformations and fragmented imagery gradually replace conventional narrative, creating a dreamlike world where atmosphere takes precedence over explanation. Rather than offering clear answers, the film invites viewers to interpret its recurring symbols and unsettling visual language, embracing ambiguity as an essential part of the experience.

Editing Approach
The film was developed by first collecting images, moods and visual ideas, allowing the narrative to emerge naturally around them rather than following a traditional script. This instinctive approach carried through to the edit, where colour grading became a key storytelling tool, with each sequence shaped by its own distinct palette to reinforce shifts in mood and perception. Practical footage was combined with subtle visual effects, including custom After Effects animation, to blur the boundary between reality and hallucination. The result is a film driven by atmosphere, visual symbolism and emotional rhythm, encouraging viewers to experience the story intuitively rather than logically.
