Kaxxarizz
Overview
Kaxxarizz is a television series that uncovers the stories behind objects held in private collections, bringing rarely seen pieces of Maltese heritage to a wider audience. Each episode begins by exploring the history, context and journey of a selected object before examining its significance in greater detail through conversations between the presenter and guest. Combining historical research, archival material and studio presentation, the series transforms individual artefacts into engaging stories that connect audiences with Malta's cultural history.
Introduction to a Programme & Opening Sequence
Creative Approach
Each episode combined studio interviews, historical research and archival material to create a narrative that was both informative and visually engaging. Alongside editing, I researched each featured object to source relevant newspaper cuttings, archival photographs and historical footage that enriched the storytelling and provided additional context. The programme's green screen presentation required custom graphics and compositing, with the screen artwork also prepared in Photoshop before being integrated and animated within Premiere Pro. I also designed the lower thirds, opening title sequence and end credits used across the series. The opening sequence combined Blender for the animated box-opening and camera movement with After Effects for the remaining motion graphics, establishing a distinctive visual identity for the programme.
