Artist Film Series
Overview
Created in collaboration with French artist Andrea Mongenie, this ongoing series of short films explores the creative process behind her paintings through a collection of cinematic, story-driven reels. Rather than documenting each artwork from start to finish, the films focus on atmosphere, texture and emotion, using close-up details, sound and carefully considered pacing to reveal the rhythm of painting itself. Each piece was developed with its own narrative while remaining visually connected to the wider series, creating a body of work that reflects both the artist's practice and the tactile nature of traditional painting.

Creative Approach
Each film was approached as a standalone visual essay, drawing inspiration from editorial filmmaking and contemporary art cinema rather than conventional social media trends. The edit prioritises texture over explanation, using close-up imagery, natural sound and restrained pacing to immerse viewers in the physical act of painting. Rather than following a fixed formula, every reel was developed around a different creative idea; from quiet observation to colour, movement and process, allowing the series to evolve while maintaining a consistent visual identity. The result is a collection of films designed not simply to document artwork, but to communicate the feeling of creating it.
